Companies to take part in upcoming request-for-proposal?

Nagasaki’s Governor,?Hodo Nakamura, commenced the RFP process?to identify?potential?vying private-sector partners for the Nagasaki IR casino?project.

Japan’s Current Corp and Japan unit of Casinos Austria International Holding GmbH have confirmed with?GGRAsia?their?desire to participate in the request-for-proposal (RFP) process?for?Nagasaki’s?IR?casino resort?project situated at the?Dutch-inspired theme park?Huis Ten Bosch theme park in Sasebo?city.?

On June 25, 2020, The?Nagasaki Governor,?Hodo Nakamura, commenced the?RFP process?to identify?potential?vying private-sector partners for the Nagasaki IR casino?project?and aims to conduct its?operator partner selection by winter.?

The?initial?three contenders?to develop the Nagasaki IR included?Hong Kong’s?Oshidori?International Holdings.?However,?GGRAsia?reached out to?the company?on whether it intended to participate in Nagasaki’s RFP process, but did not get a response.?

The former?investor in what was the Grand Waldo casino hotel in Macau operated under the gaming?license?of?Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd.?–?Hong Kong-listed Get Nice Holdings Ltd.?–?has expressed interest?on joining the race to a?Nagasaki?IR?casino?license?with a gesture of?paying?an “earnest money” deposit?of?HK$25 million?(US$3.2 million)?to Japan’s Current Corporation?or?the?SRC Group.?
