GiG sets up North America hub, eyes further U.S. expansion

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) is setting up a North American hub, to be led by co-founder Ben Clemes, as it eyes further U.S. expansion.

GiG, a gaming technology company, has been operational in the US since 2018, initially powering the Hard Rock brand in New Jersey. It has continued to invest over the last four years, expanding all North American operations.

In recent months, GiG has announced the launch of PlayStar in New Jersey, the issuance of authorisation in Pennsylvania and a deal with Crab Sports in Maryland, ahead of pending regulation in the state.

In the past 12 months, the company also bought Sportnco, a globally regulated sports betting platform.

GiG U.S. ambitions

“We have strong aspirations for North America as part of our global strategy, and with the integration of Sportnco and completion of our next generation of technology within the platform, the timing is perfect to further establish GiG operationally into the continent to capitalize on each and every opportunity,” says GiG CEO Richard Brown. “With Ben’s long history at GiG, product expertise and local knowledge there is no one better to lead the US team.”

Since the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a ban on sports betting in 2018, more than half of U.S. states have legalised sports betting. About 20 percent of those states have also legalised online casino games. Although the U.S. is one of the fastest growing areas in the world, it’s also one of the most competitive.?

?GiG Media has applied for authorization as states have regulated and is now licensed and operating in over 19 states.

GiG expects the new hub to be operational during Q2, 2023.
