The betting breaches allegedly took place between 5 February 2017 and 23 January 2021.

Toney is demanding for the FA to open a leak inquiry after Sportsmail revealed he has admitted to breaching betting regulations. He is infuriated that his intention to plead guilty has gone viral on the public domain and is blaming the Football Association for revealing what he considers to be confidential.

He added that his lawyers are in the process of writing to the FA to conduct an inquiry. He is adamant that he was advised by the Football Association that the investigation would remain confidential. Feeling very disturbed about the unauthorised leakage of matters he considers to be of a private and confidential nature, he continued “I am unable to provide any further comment and shall continue to concentrate on my football.’
