Toffees to get stuck in the Sean Dyche Derby!

Vincent Kompany’s Burnley make the trip to Merseyside on Saturday to take on former Clarets boss Sean Dyche’s Everton in a proverbial six pointer down at the bottom of the Premier League.

team players mood

Kompany’s men are unbeaten in their last four matches and look to have found a bit more resilience in recent weeks, with spirited draws at both Chelsea and West Ham in their last two away games.

The Toffees have only 1 win in their previous 17 matches in all competitions and sit just 4 points above the relegation zone in the table.

Everton have just a solitary win from their last 8 games at Goodison Park and Burnley’s recent results should give them confidence of at least avoiding defeat in this one.

The graphic below shows Everton as having the 4th worst home record in the Premier League this campaign.

team table rank

Dyche’s side have lost 7 of the 14 games they’ve played on home turf and are the joint lowest scorers at home with a mere 15 goals.

Furthermore, Everton have 0 wins in their last 10 Premier League games and face being dragged further into the relegation battle against a Burnley side who have only lost once in their last 5 games.

Everton have failed to score 5 times in their 14 league games at Goodison this campaign and have taken just 6 points from the last 30 available home and away.

They have also only scored 7 times in their last 10 fixtures so perhaps it wouldn’t be too much of a shock if Everton find themselves dragged closer into the relegation mire come full-time on Saturday.

Unibet are offering 2.25 on Burnley +1 goal handicap.

Given Kompany’s side came within a couple of minutes from gaining all three points at West Ham and earning a more than credible draw at Stamford Bridge with ten men for over half of the game, we wouldn’t be too surprised if they have more than enough to avoid defeat in this crunch game down at the bottom of the Premier League.
